Holiday baking

This being that time of the year, Lex spent a few hours yesterday making Christmas cookies with her painting friend.  Today, wanting to make something that had nothing to do with Christmas, Lex baked lemon bars and together we made a big batch of hamentaschen, which are traditionally a Purim pastry served in the Spring, but beloved of Jews in every season.  This way, when the twins come for their Sunday visit tomorrow, they can savor examples of both their father's and mother's traditions.  I can't wait to see them.
