The Count Down

It felt really quiet in my ‘hood today. With the students away and everyone else terrified to put their face out the door in case their next lateral flow test will be positive , it felt like the world had stopped, at least here away from the winter wonderland in Princes Street.

I braved the 1° temperature to scurry out to buy a nice book to read and a bag of Auntie Bessie’s roast potatoes in that order. It was a relief to retreat behind the Dower House door again and find it did actually feel warmer inside, even without the heating on.

This hamper of goodies sent from son#1 and family arrived at lunch time, the day after it was posted in Elgin, thanks to gold service from Royal Mail.
I’m wondering now that I’ve blipped it whether to start on the chocolate buttons or the Prosecco to lighten the mood on yet another dreich day.
