Santa and an elf at the crossroads

We used to drive through Inellan at this time of year, when Cathleen was HT at Toward, and marvel at the many different displays of Christmas lights some of which were enormous.

However  if you live in the countryside, and particularly when (as at present ) you don't go out a great deal, then you tend not see much of other's peoples  seasonal decorations.

So I just had to take this picture at the Kames crossroads this morning, when we went to do the last prescription delivery run of the year.   I am not sure what Santa and one of his elves is up to, but they are very visible to the passing traffic (and, it must be said, to  the first  Free  Presbyterian church in Scotland, which sits one of the other corners.)

It is also worth recording the fact that our first prescription run of the pandemic was undertaken on the 10th of April last year and although I have only done a few, Cathleen and some other volunteers have been keeping them going every since and delivering medicines to those who are unable to get to the surgery / dispensary in Tighnabruaich to pick them up.

We certainly never thought at Easter last year that we would still be doing them at Christmas this year, but the pandemic has brought a few such surprises, particularly of late !
