Lake Lure Vacation: Day 6 …

… Brevard back to Lake Lure.

Today dawned rainy as expected.  But we still went out in search of more white squirrels.  The lighting was terrible but we had to try.  Franklin Park was our destination.  It took some time and driving around but we finally tracked down a few squirrels.  Most of my pictures were taken from inside the car as I didn’t want to spook the squirrels any more than necessary … and it was very wet out!

We returned to the hotel to gather our things and check out.  Then it was on to the White Squirrel Shoppe as a trip to Brevard wouldn’t be complete without doing so. 

We were back in Lake Lure by 1:00 pm.  We stopped at the Flowering Bridge but it was raining by this time. The upper right picture is of the shrouded Chimney Rock.  We didn’t stay long before returning to our condo.  Thankfully the weather cleared for a bit which allowed me to sit on the deck photographing all the birds that come to visit us … please see Extra photo. The yellow/gray bird could be a female American Redstart but if anyone can confirm this I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Bad weather coming tomorrow but we will try to make the most of it.
