Golden Light part 2

A lot of rain today, and as it was forecast I took myself to Risley Moss in the morning for a short walk around. And amazingly - the sun came out.

I love trees in winter. It’s a time to appreciate their structure, their textures, and the colours of bark and branch. Silver birch can be particularly striking in sunlight when their almost white trunks and chestnut tinged branches shine, especially when offset by grey clouds behind and the decaying vegetation in the foreground (which I’ve managed to lighten a bit). I thought the overall had an abstract quality, so I’ve tagged it.
