Zoo lights

Monday
We were up early this morning to see Laura on her way. I made her some sandwiches for the journey, and Roger made her some coffee, and she was on her way to Wausau Wisconsin at about 6.45. We had a bit of a lazy morning, but then mid-afternoon, Roger, Philip and I went down to the zoo. Since the temperatures were really mild, we got to see more animals than we did last year when we went down to see the lights. Whenever we have been before, the lions have usually just been napping, but today the male lion gave us quite a show, walking around, playing with an empty gas canister, and posing quite nicely for a few shots. The jelly fish lights were new this year, above a tunnel of blue lights, with sounds of the sea played over speakers. I don’t remember seeing the gorillas last year either. You will notice from the top right photo, that we were walking about at about 6pm still not wearing our jackets, just T-shirts or long-sleeve t-shirts!
When we got back home, we had pizza from one of our favourite pizza places, Dewey’s, which Philip hadn’t had in quite a long time. We then watched the latest James Bond Movie No Time to Die, on Amazon Prime. Laura had kept us posted during the day, once when she had cleared Indianapolis, then again once she cleared Chicago, and finally once she had arrived, about 4.30 Wisconsin time, an hour behind us. It was extremely cold up there, and snowy, so she was glad of her 4 wheel drive!
