First Foot

We were still languishing in our kip after a late (for us) New Year's Eve when a text arrived asking if we wanted to meet for coffee!   Alasdair was up from down south for the New Year festivities ..... such as they were.  We had doubts about finding a decent coffee shop open on New Year's Day but realised we had the possibility of a first foot!  We couldn't recall when that had happened in 2021 - June maybe?  So a short while later we had the kettle on and cracked open the champagne.  We declined Alasdair's offer to trek up Arthur's Seat with him opining it was too windy!  He headed off and we settled down for another pot of coffee and some pastries!  A very leisurely New Year's Day all in!
