Checking In

We’ve had a really good New Year trip to Holly. But time to return home.

Before returning we checked in on the Zoe Covid study. We’re two of the more than 4 million people participating in what is the world’s largest public science research programme. It’s led by Professor Tim Spector of Kings College, London. We’ve learnt a lot from it, and because it’s built a huge “ real-time” data base and links with all the other scientific work going on it gives a good picture of the progress of the pandemic.

Professor Spector is cautiously optimistic about 2022, which is good news. The caution I guess is because it’s all so unpredictable. The virus will continue to evolve, it isn’t going away. For ourselves, J has to avoid infections so it’s really important we continue to be extremely careful. It is constraining, which is why Holly on the Hill and the opportunities it provides has made such a difference these last 9 months.
