Roadmap Out Of Lockdown Step 4b - Day 29

Raindrops on roses for Flower Friday

Not the rose blipped on the ninth day of Christmas, but one of the six roses flowering in the garden, in January! I’d like to say it’s due to my TLC but it’s more likely due to the unseasonably mild weather we’ve been having recently. Having said that, today has been cold and wet, 4 degrees with a weather warning for ice this evening and overnight, though no sign of the forecast sleet/snow showers.

My day has been taken up with boxing up the Christmas tree decorations and lights etc, while watching White Christmas. But the most exciting event was the arrival of the postie, first time we’ve had any post in eight days, apparently due to so many postal staff isolating with COVID. The same problem has caused chaos at our local pharmacy, and even the Boots store in the high street had to close completely this week for the same reason. Our recycling also hasn’t been collected, again, due to staff shortages. I guess this is something we’re going to have to get used to this Winter...

Take care, stay safe and well...
