Afternoon walk

Linda is attempting to reconcile her fear of Covid with her desire to be more sociable, so Ailie and I were invited for coffee this morning. It was lovely to spend time in her beautifully stylish house, converted from a chapel, and to have a chance of a catch up.

We were late getting out for our 6.3 mile walk round the moor, as I got engrossed in all the Guardian articles on the latest on the PM’s partying during lockdown. Marina Hyde was at her savage best. All those poor people obeying the rules, not even being able to sit with dying relatives, and police fining for “picnicking” 2 women walking in Derbyshire carrying coffee. Oh he’ll wriggle out of it.
