A Love/Hate Relationship

I love Yew - it has wonderful grain and colour and feels silky smooth when finished.
I hate Yew -  it has a tendency to hide hollows  and has grain that tears out and makes it really hard to finish nicely. It also cracks if you sand it too quickly or allow heat to build up.

There were pictures also taken on a feather using different lighting. They are over HERE. Not the page I was trying to put them on though. I have 2 accounts over there but for some reason the page names have become linked and I cannot get into the other one other than by going through a link on Blip .... but I cannot work out how to separate the log-ins.
