Little Alne

Following Godfrey57's blip  a couple of days back  we decided to visit the cafe at the Arden Centre in Little Alne.  We were meeting Maureen and Ian and had a table outside the cafe.  Following coffee we went for a short stroll to the nearby River Alne.  We passed this Victorian post box; I was surprised to read the notice on it stating that if one wanted a later collection time they could travel over 30 miles to the centre of Birmingham to post their letter, up to 7:30 in the evening.  That seems a bit tortuous when, if you were really desperate, there were much closer post boxes around Stratford, five or six miles away!
