Not a River

When is a river not a river  :-  when its a canal  This is  the Foss Dyke which links the river Trent to the Brayford pool  and then to the river Witham . It is thought to be the oldest Canal still in use 
This is my chosen location / river for my yearly  challenge of one shot a month . I was going to blip it looking the other way see extra but when I looked this  way I spotted the lovely reflection of the tree and also the late afternoon sun behind the tree . 
This shot was taken this afternoon on route to visit Jeri and the family in Retford for a belated birthday tea for Jeri who's birthday it was on the 6th Jan.
Back home now for a relaxing evening with some general TV catch up
