Stormy

As predicted we got snow, about 6”, before it started to rain around midday. What a mess! Since the cold settles back in tonight, we’ve already shoveled, and will go out once more before dark to clear any unwanted snow out of the way before it freezes in place. We’re very thankful the high winds have not materialized, at least not yet • Despite the heavy snow that fell this morning, numerous goldfinches and titmice filled the lilac trees taking shelter in between quick sorties to the feeders. You can see one of the tufties here. They are brave and resilient little creatures • In honor of the MLK holiday today I’d like to share my most favorite quote of his: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
