Wound up in Wexford

Borris House ....

.... from the viaduct.

We were awaiting details of conveyancers and surveyors.  And I hadn't slept well, as, after taking some time to get to sleep, I then awoke at 0600, thinking about trees*.

When we eventually got our act together, we decided to go into Borris, just 3 miles away.  We parked up at the entrance to Borris House, to be met by a notice telling us that there was no access today.  We ignored this enough to go a short distance into the grounds, to read an information board, and get a rather nice photo of the gatehouse against a glowering sky (1st extra)

We then walked down through the "busy village" of Borris (all eating places shut, hardly anyone around) to walk up onto the disused railway viaduct.  This has quite recently been "updated" and made safe - sadly the modern sides really spoil the appearance (2nd extra), but there was a lovely view across to Borris House, which is my main Blip, and also some good views across to Mount Leinster and the Blackstairs mountains.

We then walked back up through the village, picked up a parcel from the car and posted it off to Sweden - at least as expensive as from the UK, but much less form filling, and much more likely to arrive without complication.

And then back to our apartment, where we heated up (and ate some of) a Christmas pudding dating back a couple of years - actually really tasty.

Warmer, but much more cloudy today, but no rain.

We're off to Waterford in the morning

*to put this into context, one thing we have concentrated on, and will miss most about our current house are the varied trees we have planted
