Make Do and Mend

I am of an age where we were always taught to repair, not replace, if possible and this has always stayed with me. More knitting last night but this time to make patches to repair this favourite jumper which has already been patched on one elbow, now it has worn thin under both arms. My friend Lizzie gave me a big bag of darning wool a few years ago and I found just the right thing to make these two patches. Tonight I will sew them on. It is a bright, very cold day but a great improvement on the low cloud of yesterday.
