The Dog And Pickle

Formerly The Nag's Head, a sixteenth century pub in the Essex village of Moreton where my maternal grandfather was a policeman. There were plans to use the site for housing, an idea not popular with the villagers. A talented, young, local chef has transformed the pub into a family restaurant and free house with a dog-friendly bar. The parents of the Moreton Primary School have been given permission to use the car park for school pick-up and drop-off.

My daughter suggested we visit as January is a boring month. We loved driving there in convoy in our S2000s along a twisty country road that neither of us have ever travelled before. Our lunch was truly delicious.
