An experiment

Not too much to chose from after my walk in the park this afternoon, but at least this lady cardinal was persistent in posing for a blip. I had several poses of her, so I used them to practice on the new processing skills I am learning from Lightroom 4. The whole scene was a bit dark, but instead of increasing the exposure on the entire image, I just lightened her up a bit, leaving the background dark. There is a fine line between getting it right and overdoing the processing. Did I get it right or not?
