Watching the Starlings

As predicted a couple of days ago, the Starlings descended on my birdfeeders and have managed to completely empty them.  One of the feeders will close if too much weight lands on it, so I need to adjust the weight threshold to prevent future pillaging and encourage them to move on.

I haven't posted a shot of a Tufted Titmouse in a long while.  They are very fast and flit from one spot to another so they don't make it easy, but they are definitely the cutest birds in the garden.

It rained pretty heavily overnight and there was a prediction that the temperature would drop, it would change to snow, and we would get a few inches before it ended.  All the schools were canceled as a result, and as frequently happens, we did not get any snow or ice and the temperature has yet to drop below freezing.  It is coming, however and we are expecting the lowest temperatures in three years.
