Lonesome Pine

This afternoon, we paid a visit to somewhere I have been meaning to go for ages - Kirkconnell Flow National Nature Reserve, near Dumfries - wildseasons.co.uk
It had everything I love packed into a small area - native Birch and Scots Pine and peaty heath - a really lovely half hour or so meander through the trail - I can see myself returning often in different seasons.
I had another look at yesterday’s quilted landscape this morning - different light but still looking beautiful. A kind friend brought me a great big bag of winter greens from her garden, some of which I will be able to plant in my raised bed so I feel very spoiled today.
