Friday Forsythia

Today was an 'aargh' day!  Started off ok with my usual trip to the pool.  thankfully, last night's forecast of hard frost did not materialise.  For once here in the north we seem to be doing better on the weather front.

Came home to find that L had not agreed to meet so that had to be rearranged.  Then it was time for a College meeting, agreeing an agenda.  This is like being at work.  I get time between meetings but not enough to do anything meaningful. I just end up wasting those precious moments.

The meeting with L did happen after that and it was hard, dealing with someone who is hurt and also illogical and self centred.  I came off that call after an hour feeling pretty battered and bruised.  The fall out rumbled on most of the day with a couple more calls and then a meeting to plan interviews that also got slightly hi-jacked.  This could have been handled so much better, or maybe not.  It's always about people and communication.

Didn't have any lunch but hot footed it up to Mortonhall to meet with M, a new Apex Board member.  They had cherry scones, but they were a bit sweet!  Like yesterday it was so good to meet someone in person.  Bought some replacement wire for the back wall.  Apparently it was Mortonhall's busiest day this year.  The sun comes out, the gardeners spend. It was good to get a walk even if it was fairly urban. I meant to blip but forgot so rushed out once home to catch some yellow flowers, the forsythia, a primula.  I tried to catch last year's marigolds that are still flowering but they kept swaying in the breeze.  The new phone camera has a macro setting.

Then it was phone call with G (see earlier), the interview planning meeting and some follow up work.  I wish I could take away L's hurt and help her see things more realistically, but I can't.

Eventually ate and worked hard to stay awake to watch TV.

And that was Friday.
