Another rock musician on the wall

The Rock Shop on Karangahape Road (K Rd) sponsors Paul X Walsh in marking the death of musicians. Ever since he did a portrait of John Lennon on this wall, Paul has marked the death, untimely or not, of musicians of note, or personally important to him, with a portrait.

I have returned to working in the unit, meaning that as well as attending meetings by Zoom (I still did a lot of that today), I am available for conversations, and there has been much more consultation , and advice seeking. It has also meant that I could take a walk from the unit across Grafton Bridge to K Rd and for the first time in almost a year, check out the Memorial Wall.

It is too soon for a portrait of Meat Loaf, who died less than a week ago. Dusty Hill died at the end of July last year, and the portrait was put up in August. It looks to me like a really good likeness of him. It is sad that taggers have taken to defacing these images honouring musicians; at one time they remained untagged.
