River Bank Stillness

Thank you for your kind words yesterday. I’m pleased to report that after an improved night’s sleep, my ‘New Year’ has started reasonably well with two walks, a few exercises and some necessary domestic chores (several loads of washing and fridge-clearance cooking). Nothing dramatic, but it’s a start.

The late afternoon sunshine the BBC Weather App teasingly promised does not materialise, so our walk around the nature reserve is gloomily overcast and bitingly cold. The tide is in and the waters of the river are glassy-still, reflecting perfectly. By now the light is fading, and the colours of the landscape softly muted. The conditions really aren’t  ideal for photography, but there is a quiet beauty waiting to be captured. Technically, this is obviously not a Still Life shot, but here life is certainly perfectly still.
