Fun day but photography mishaps

We headed down to near Selkirk today where Rosemary and Izzy were competing in a cross-country. 

I was going to take pictures of the race, but got distracted by some majestic trees and nearly missed the runners. When they did come, I had rubbish light, poor composition and landscape settings dialled in. Managed to 'pan' this one though.

Being us, we then went to the cafe, which was dog friendly. The dog was happy because she has a woolly coat, but we all had to sit outside in sub-zero temperatures. The service was really good all the same. We then went a fun river walk with the dog being in heaven.
