Life in Sunny Dubai

Sheesh Park

Yup, that really is the name of the area in Sharjah that the park is located in and named after!

G's Zoom lesson in the evening got cancelled, and she realised last night that she didn't need to be in school, giving her a completely free day! We both caught up with work in the morning and then decided to have a drive out to see the relatively new Rafisa Dam in the winter.

As we approached it, we remembered we had wanted to check out the Gerard's cafe there, so we did just that. Gerard's by name only, we discovered. Oh well. It got us out of the car and into this park, which took us 45 minutes to explore. My main picture is of the covered kids' play area. The first extra is G at the top of a flight of steps, nearly at the top of the "mountain walk", and the second extra is me trying to give a speech at the mini amphitheatre.

We got back in the car and headed for the dam but didn't stop there as G wanted to see the [Arabian] sea, and the Friday Market, and the Big Red (dune). (You'll have to look at a map to see how far these landmarks are from each other).

We managed to see everything we wanted, but not all of them in daylight. [G got a super shot of the Big Red with light trails!!] We got home before 8. Not bad, considering how far we'd travelled. It is the first big drive we've had with the "new" car. It did very well, climbing several hills effortlessly with the a/c running. (Yes, we still need to have that on when we're in the car!)
