Getting sharp!

Went into Ilkley this afternoon first to take some books to the Oxfam shop and then to have an early tea/late lunch before going to the cinema to see Belfast.

Thought it was excellent, both poignant and humorous and the portrayal of the times in black and white suited it perfectly.

But our main reason for being in Ilkley this evening was for Chris to participate in a knife sharpening session at Community Cutlery which was his requested Christmas present from the Alex and Grace.
He really enjoyed it and the two knives he took have sharpened up wonderfully. Don’t think there was anyone there with knives as old as his as they were both originally part of my college set - early ‘70s. A carbon steel chefs knife and a stainless steel paring/fruit knife.

I still have and use the whole set but the peeler finally gave up just before Christmas simply because the cord binding around the handle started to fall apart!

A good end to a pleasantly warm but rather murky day but it was 2-2-22!
