Waxing crescent moon

The gorgeous pink sky this evening over our back garden had me dashing outside with my camera to try and capture its beauty. It wasn't until I uploaded the photo to my Mac that I saw the tiny waxing crescent moon in one corner of the picture! 

I should add that I didn't know that's what this view of the moon was called until I looked it up, but now I've added another snippet of information to my brain. Whether it will retain it or not is another matter ...
