Kite surfers

We visited the Parnell Farmer’s Market this morning, as usual. It was so windy that the gazebo covering the flower stand almost took off. After returning home, hubby cycled off to the Maritime Museum for his weekly volunteer stint.  Unsurprisingly, it was rather lively out on the harbour today.

I had a quiet day, doing some research on Pilates classes where I can go to build up my core strength and start to get fit again.  Long, fast walks are off the agenda for a while I think.  I decided to go for a short, slow stroll during the afternoon and met up with hubby down at Kohimarama, on his way home from central Auckland.  It was grey, overcast and extremely windy on Tamaki Drive, but that didn’t deter the kite surfers, who were revelling in the strong wind.  The stronger the better as far as they are concerned.  If you look closely at the photo it’s possible to see one chap over on the right high up out of the water.  It must be so exhilarating.

There are 243 new community cases today, which is the highest daily total of new cases since the pandemic began. No doubt this will be exceeded tomorrow.
