Every Dog Has His Day

The weather today was DREICH.

Mrs Dog had a hair appointment in Newburgh and we had planned to walk the final mile of the Fife Coastal Path with Mr Dog. The weather put paid to our plans.

Mr Dog is recovering from a heart event, somewhere between an attack and angina. All has been resolved by the insertion of a stent which was carried out within an hour of Mrs Dog driving him to hospital.

A week further on. Mr Dog is much improved, but unable to drive for a while.

We collected Mr Dog and gave him a little tour around the area before arriving back home.

Mrs Dog, resplendent with her hair newly dressed, joined us a couple of hours later for lunch.

After lunch while Pat and Mrs Dog chatted away elsewhere Mr Dog and I watched the 6 Nations encounter between Scotland and England. Of course we were delighted with the result with Scotland, the Victors and retaining the Calcutta Cup.

Mr Dog chatted about his trip to the hospital and showed me the photographs he had taken during his treatment. He does realise that he had something of a narrow escape with a Get Out of Jail Free Card given to him.

Full marks to the NHS staff who carried out his treatment.

And today’s Blipfoto. Michael Portillo had an encounter with Caithness Stone in the current series of his Coastal Railway Journeys.

Caithness Stone was used extensively when our home was constructed as a flooring material and in the main staircases. Today’s photo shows part of the south stair curving through 90 degrees. Very complicated craftsmenship and virtually unmarked after 180 years.
