Winchester cathedral peregrine

Today, on my way home from ukulele class I cycled through the cathedral close and took a  look at the north  transept. Sure  enough, I spied one of the Peregrine  Falcons perched on the ledge just below the round window. In my extra you  can just about see it, to the  left of the photo. The resident female, Winnie, lost her partner, Chester, last year to severe parasitic infection, but  may have  found a new mate, called Alfred. But, the course of nesting and raising  young does not always run smoothly, so only time will tell.
