UK Postcards

That’s the theme of this jigsaw which, thanks to the dreadful weather, I completed over the weekend.

Due to the style of dress illustrated I would say they were from the 1930’s. Some easily identified places and some less so.
Edinburgh Castle isn’t that obvious, bottom left, but although the name isn’t shown the jolly fisherman and the slogan ‘Bracing ‘ can only be Skegness.

More surprising for a postcard is Goole docks! (Just below Devon on the left). I’d never heard of Saltdean but it is apparently near Brighton. It’s a shame that sending postcards is becoming less and less common.

The jigsaw was quick to do and fun.

We’ve been to singing this morning, went over all our recently learned songs with huge changes to some of them, not uncommon but somewhat disconcerting as some people who go to more than one class are happily singing something we’ve not written on our sheets but we got there in the end.

Not shopping today as I want to go later in the week as Grace and the girls are coming for half term.

Wondering whether to start another jigsaw, the weather’s no better today!
