This is my 365th entry on Blipfoto. It’s a shame that I did not quite make the full year that I was aiming for last year but I am, slowly, getting my habit back.

Today we woke in Portsmouth and had a late breakfast in a cute cafe bar near the Spinnaker Tower. We wandered Gunwharf Quays before walking to Southsea to board the Hovercraft to Ryde.  There’s a little sign where you board the Hovercraft that says, “Hovertravel is the world's longest-running commercial hovercraft service and provides the only scheduled passenger hovercraft service in Europe. Since Hovertravel launched in 1965, the service has carried over 26 million passengers across from Southsea to Ryde on the Isle of Wight.”  I took a picture of the Hovercraft for Flickr.

We had intended to go for a look at some properties but, as it turned out, the only option was taken off the market earlier in the week: presumably it had sold. Nonetheless we decided to take time to explore a couple of new areas of Ryde, have lunch and talk a walk down Appley Beach.  Being on the Island seems to take all the stresses of life away. It’s very relaxing.  A lady who was working in a gift shop told PY that if we moved here we’d never regret it and never go back. It’s quite tempting.

We took the catamaran back to Portsmouth Harbour and the trains back to Raynes Park in plenty of time for dinner.

In the evening we watched Disney’s ‘Encanto’ which I knew nothing about but turned out to be a lot of fun. The song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” appears to have been number one on the Official Singles Chart for several weeks. Who says I don’t know what’s popular these days?
