a lifetime burning

Fly me to the moon

We are going to have to get used to a few more of these things flying over it seems.

We live about 12 miles to the East of Bristol Airport and at peak times of day can have a plane overfly us every 5 minutes.  One of the delights of the first year of the pandemic was the absence of air traffic.  Now they are back again, and if not yet quite as frequent as they used to be, certainly the numbers are on the rise.

Bristol Airport's application to increase its capacity from 10 million passengers a year to 12 million was granted recently at a planning appeal , despite its widespread local unpopularity and despite the UK's commitment to reaching net zero emissions by 2050 given at the recent Cop26 climate summit.
