Bus Pass Walk

5 Bus Pass Walkers set out today, and due to the weather forecast I donned one of my hubby’s waterproofs - a little snug, but longer, so better for the rain which was teeming down.  However, by the time we set off the rain had stopped, and we only had a short light shower at one point.  Photo is of a colourful narrowboat often seen moored near 5 Rise Locks where we had our refreshments - a lovely bowl of leek and potato soup for me.  Several community choir members in the cafe so nice to have a chat.  The extra shows the peaceful canal (big puddles in places on the towpath) as we walked towards Bingley, and one of my favourite narrowboat names.  It also shows what it is currently like on the Bingley side of the locks where the canal has been drained whilst the works continue. And as often is the case, there was a bicycle in the mud - no supermarket trolley though!  Updating this at 5am Wednesday as I was woken up at 04:30 by gales howling around the house rather earlier than forecast.  Can hear things crashing around so hoping nobody gets too much damage!
