Relaxing at sea

Back blipped Wednesday 16th for Tuesday 15th

We decided to have breakfast in the cabin to save too early a start and it was very pleasant. My porridge was delicious. Mr PHL the. Headed to his art class and I headed off to the second music lecture, the topic on Trooping the colour. It’s been lovely learning some insider information.

The daily update from the captain confirmed what I’d susie ted that our late departure would mean that our time in Vigo would be curtailed. Well yes and no, they’ve swapped the ports around so Lisbon on Wednesday and Vigo on Thursday. The only real change is no overnight stop in Lisbon but that doesn’t bother me too much.

After lunch we headed to the forward lounge where I got on with some knitting and Mr PHL read for a while before heading to his art class. After he left I spent a couple of hours chatting with the couple in the table next to me. They are seasoned cruisers having done 25 with Cunard alone!

Headed to the onboard pub for a drink before dinner and Mr PHL did something very unlike him and went over to speak to the comedian from last night who came in after us and sat at the next table. He joined us for a few minutes and was a really lovely man. We couldn’t stay long as we had booked a meal at the steakhouse so hopefully we will bump into him again.

Dinner was delicious, so much food and nothing too much trouble for the wonderful staff. Didn’t finish our bottle of wine so they offered to send it up to our restaurant for dinner tomorrow.

Off to the theatre to watch the delayed musicals night, some real good singers and dancers. Even Mr PHL was captivated!
A wee nightcap in the lounge where there was a jazz band playing, they were excellent.

There is lots of memorabilia around the shop and I was taken with this medal for today’s challenge. Sorry for late posting cathy1947

Sorry for lack of comments, just about to lose the signal as we depart from Lisbon.
