Dribs and Drabs of 2014

By RodgerEvans01

Not as easy as you'd think...

Not exciting, but still challenging. Ever take a pic of a crow and get nothing but a black-blob-silhouette on slender, black stilts. I think they're the original "stealth" flyers as their feathers refuse to reflect light.

The crows hang out in the trees around the house early in the morning. Not sure what they're waiting for as the pond is open 24/7 for bathing, drinking, and any other crow activities that require water. Maybe it's a Buddah issue...

Yesterday a group of us had an online FB discussion about B&W editing. There are as many ways to produce B&W images as there are tones of grey. I've desaturated, used EFEX filters, used a B&W layer in CS6, etc. etc. One of the contributors posted a FREE video that is incredibly informative (not meant to be a comment on free videos being uninformative...).

I share the link (all you need is to give them an e-mail address for the link to the video) as well as my attempt to use the video to make a half-a$$ nice B&W of a stealthy crow.
