We slept well last night, though could have done with a bit more!
After checking out we went straight to the nursing home for another short visit with Mum and also to share Communion with her, which she appreciated. She was pleased we'd got the desk (see yesterday) in the car and that we still had an old bookcase that had been a wedding present in 1950 and passed on to us when we moved to Dundee. (I'm not sure what's to happen to that now as we need the space for the desk, we'll try to get it up the stairs).
Then it was the long journey home. The sun shone most of the time, there was one heavy shower just south of the Tyne, and the A68 was showing off its scenery. We stopped at a pub in West Auckland (main pic, for something different) for some lunch and then only one brief stop thereafter. We hit Edinburgh at the wrong time so that slowed us down but were still home about 8 hrs after leaving. The sky over the Pentlands was lovely, see extra, and I prefer the pic but went for variety.
I've unpacked and done the washing, hope I can get it out tomorrow.
P.S. Just been informed this is no.4000 - how did I get there?!
