Fungus in the garden and lunch at Scarecrow

We decided to have lunch at Scarecrow in central Auckland today and to walk at least part of the way. Just before we set off hubby pointed out an unusual fungus in a pot plant, which I decided would be my main blip for the day. It was a beautiful sunny day, so I also took a beach photo at Kohimarama, which is the extra.

As we walked past the Tamaki Yacht Club just around the corner from Mission Bay we noticed that Melanoma NZ were conducting free spot checks, so decided to take the opportunity. Fortunately, we were both OK.  The nurse took a UV reading, which was 10.5.  Apparently you should put on the sunscreen when the UV reading is just over 3.  It was very hot - Auckland reached 30deg today.  We walked just a little bit further and were crossing the road to the bus stop when we saw the bus. It was only a short distance but we had to run and I have fingers crossed that won’t be my undoing.

We had an enjoyable lunch at Scarecrow, then walked just a short way along the route home before hopping on a bus.  We walked just over 7.5 kms in total.

Today there are 3,297 new community cases of Covid-19, the first time that daily case numbers have topped 3,000.
