Flamboyant

I took this picture from the top of the hill as we were going to Dana and Jim's for dinner last night. Technically I should have posted it yesterday, but I had already posted so, full disclosure, this is cheating, but it was so amazing it had to be posted. John pulled over so i could take the picture, right behind someone else who was doing the same thing. As I was getting my phone out, the last sliver of sun slipped below the horizon, but this astonishing color remained.

It rained sprinkled slightly as we were driving home after a delicious dinner.

It has been a beautiful warm day today. We took  Spike on a walk through the field where we used to walk Ozzie. It has been overgrown and uninviting since the new subdivision was built on the majority of it, but the trail through what is left of it has been cleared a little bit and we were able to let Spike off the leash to find his way so it was a good walk.

We become heat seeking missiles this time of year when it is really warm in the sunshine outside but still quite chilly in the house. I moved one of the outdoor chairs into a corner of our bedroom and worked doggedly on Dana's knitted lap blanket, or whatever it should be called until I actually got too hot.

Our neighbors to the west who are on the cusp of getting their house framed are showing up more often and we invited them over for wine and catch up. They have just gotten their pump house built and secured and their foundations poured and they said they have already had 10 inspections. We like them a lot and are looking forward to having them back in the neighborhood.
