The Lozarithm Lens

Lacock NT (Saturday 26th February 2022)

Although it was a Saturday I went to Lacock because I wanted to see the Astronomy Photographer Of The Year exhibition in the Fox Talbot Museum at Lacock Abbey NT, due to close the following day. Actually it has had a stay of execution and won't close until May, but I was glad I went as it was quite sunny and in the grounds Spring has advanced. A fortnight ago one border looked like this whereas now it looks like this.

I kept an eye out for the Abbey cats, especially the Smokey-alike Abbess, but it was a bit too cold for them still.

The Abbey closed at 1600 hr so I spent a further half hour walking around the village, up to the ford at Bide Brook and back, and in East Street I caught site of this cat looking out from a windowsill.

Lozarhythm of the Day:
Mellow Candle - Heaven Heath (recorded December 1971, Tollington Park Studios, London)
Clodagh Simonds,  Alison Bools, Maria White (vcls), Dave Williams (guitar), Frank Boylan (bass), William Murray (drums)
From the album Swaddling Songs by Mellow Candle, based in Dún Laoghaire, unheralded at the time but now a cult item on vinyl for collectors. John Peel's copy was recently unearthed from his massive record collection at Peel Acres, chosen by Kieran Hebden to be played on Tom Ravenscroft's The Collection series on 13 February.
