Late wake up, late breakfast and therefore a late start meant that we got to Alcalali not much before lunch. There was another English couple there and, confused by it, we discussed where the routes in the guidebook actually were, it not being clear at all from the photos and the fact that there have been several more lines bolted since printing.

Steve climbed one, since I didn't fancy it, then he climbed another and I top roped it, but neither of our heads were there and we stopped and ate a late sandwich.

We opted for a drive up to the Coll de Rates for superb views of the Bernia ridge and other mountains and enjoyed tea and cake. Then back to the hotel for a couple of beers in the bar... well we are on holiday!
