Bowed but defiant

In the dreary gloom and soaking drizzle these little a daffs did their best to brightened the mood of the day. Heavenly laden with water droplets their head are sagging but they’re still giving us their best.

The weather didn’t improve all day. We had some repairs and renovations carried out on some of our window closing gaps where hinges have moved and replacing a blown unit. All very necessary in view of the predicted energy bill dropped with a massive thump in my inbox. £1000 a year at least.

We’re not all in the same boat in this energy crisis. Many individuals and families will find this sort of increase impossible to meet. I find the consequences difficult to comprehend. How can these increases by mitigated?

The energy crisis is worldwide, all this after two years of a pandemic and the now the invasion of Ukraine. I can’t help thinking we are the architects of our destiny.
