Keeping the Chickens Safe

I think I found the owl that the bird app heard yesterday! The neighbors have this over their chicken coop. I think it's meant to scare away predators, or rats. 

The landscaper did a terrific job of transplanting two citrus trees (a lime and a Buddha's Hand) from their big water-wasting pots, and he planted a brand new orange tree (Lane Late Navel) out back. I'm so happy to have an orange tree at last! Makes me feel like a real Californian.
