Goodbye for now Dennis and Clara his 2CV

A Blip friend asked for a photo of Dennis’s 2CV so here it is. (I had a 2CV in the 70s - I don’t know how we fitted in 3 children to drive from Northumberland to France to camp). He drove off this morning to make the long drive to Keynsham to stay with another friend there. We’ve had a nice time though we are a bit worried that he seems not quite on the ball. Who is these days I suppose, though he seems to forget a lot. He thinks it’s after his big heart op which was followed by bladder cancer. He enjoyed his visit and was wanting to book another.

Shona and I did the 6 mile round walk to book group, this time at Sue’s. Her choice was Klara and the Sun by Ishiguro. It was a good choice as it afforded lots of discussion of the type, “what did he mean by this” kind of thing. Some of us seemed to get more out of it than others.

It’s been another sunny day though the wind got up later in the day.

Friends due to come in 10 days have called off because Bev’s sister has had a stroke so understandably she wants to stay in Dorset to be nearby. I’m quite relieved as they’d be leaving the day Jenny arrives and she goes the day the boys are coming so I might have been a bit tired by the end of that 9 days!

Our MP has had Russian money - or at least the local Tory party had it to help her election campaign. She’s the minister for Trade and like most of BJ’s chums, not the brightest. Everything is so grim.
