A day in the life

The little things

Who'd have thought I would have a blip ready already by ten o'clock today. My first morning tea outdoor in the almost warm sun. It was a rather short moment but symbolically, a breakthrough. The outdoor season has begun.
The rest of the morning was used for rehearsing some songs for various coming concerts, my hurting index finger is getting better and isn't hurting as much anymore. I can play my guitar again, more or less unhindered.

My former colleague Thomas is the leader of a choir I was in once, called the Moon choir, one of several Kalmar choirs but the only one who does a bit of acting as well as singing and always perform by heart. Each show takes a lot of preparation but this time was a bit over the top. It was planned to be performed in late spring of 2020 but we all know why that didn't happen. They kept on working on the show through corona though, added some songs and changed the theme of the concert slightly. After having choir members nearly dying of Corona, it was called "Live now - songs from the other side" The premiere took place yesterday and this evening I was on the last of four performances. Excellent and very moving.
One of the choir members was in a respirator for a long period of time, the doctors had almost given up on him. He made it through though, and his whole situation changed dramatically for the better after his choir had sung to him from the park outside the hospital. Thomas, the choir leader wrote a song to him called "Breathe", tonight the choir member sang his song in the concert, with the choir accompanying him. It was a very moving moment.
The extra shows the choir during their final number.
