At one point during Saturday's Falkirk v Airdrie football match the referee decided that the Falkirk goalkeeper caught a pass that had been played to him by a defender - the result being an indirect (i.e non-scoring) free kick for Airdrie about five or six yards from the Falkirk goal. Mayhem then ensued as practically the whole Falkirk team lined up on the goal line as one Airdrie player passed the ball to another who shot for goal. Somehow the ball didn't go in and the Bairns survived that little scare.

It was just about the only thing that went right for Falkirk that afternoon. An abject performance all round and a 1-4 home defeat that could / should have been more. It has not been a good season for the navy blues and the fans are restless. It used to be that we would turn up more in hope than expectation, but now even hope seems a distant memory.

Who'd be a football fan, eh? Until next Saturday then...
