A time for everything

A face only a mother could love!

Sunday
We had put our clocks forward overnight, and consequently were not keen on the idea of getting up this morning! However, get up we did, and had a very meaningful and enjoyable morning at church. Both our pastors had other commitments this morning, so the service was led by two women, which seemed most appropriate since it was International Womens Day earlier in the week. K., who presented the message, is the leader of the children and youth ministry, whilst A., who led the service, Is active in several areas, including the youth and the choir. They did a really good job, and as usual, between Tom, our organist and pianist, the choir and Praise Band, we enjoyed some great music. Afterwards, we stayed for Bible study as usual, which is led by another woman, S. She used to be a teacher, and she really does her homework in preparing for these classes, so we always come away feeling enriched.
When we got home, we had a good chat with my sister Janet in England - we hadn’t spoken since before our trip to Florida. She shared the news that she is going to get another puppy. She is a widow now, but they had always had dogs since their children were little. She lost her last one last year, and initially had been unsure whether she would get another dog, but it had been clear in recent conversations she was leaning towards it! It will be a Cavapoo, a cross between a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a poodle. They are currently about 5 weeks old, so it will be a few weeks yet. As I got off the phone, Roger was looking out the front window, and he told me there was a turkey vulture in the road, feasting on either a mouse or a mole, we couldn’t quite make it out! We see these soaring overhead all the time when we are out in the country, and occasionally at the side of the bike trail or beside the river, but I’ve never seen one on the ground in the neighbourhood before! In flight they are quite attractive from below, but up close on the ground, they are quite ugly! As we were watching, a second one flew in, though he didn’t seem to get much of a share! Eventually a car came along and scared them off! It was a lovely sunny afternoon, and warmer than yesterday, so we went out walking at Winton Woods, which we hadn’t visited for a while, where we found a few signs of Spring. I’ve put a collage in extras
