What?

These objects were taken on a walk alongside the West Coast Railway Line between Workington and Harrington.  There shape is strange.  These objects are connected to Workington steelworks (whose railway lines were exported around the world including the Channel Tunnel.)  Their shape is from a cupola in which slag/waste from a Bessemer Converter was poured.  Apparently in the 50s the normal dump was blocked and so they were dumped on the shore.  For those of you.   missing phots of wind turbines, they can be found in this photo.  Thanks to a Blipper friend who posted her phots on Face Book, where ex-steel workers gave here the information.
