Jenny’s 60th ….

Distraction, while her kids set up their place for the big bash!

Filling in three days later ...

Today was a full on day.  We went to spend the day with Jenny and the family as it was her 60th birthday celebrations over the weekend.  Her girls had organised a very full on weekend, very creative, very well thought out, lots of meaningful activities.  It was really special.  My nieces are super creative!

We got to join in the Saturday celebrations which were loads of fun.  We then had to lure Jenny away so they could plan the next events, which sadly we couldn't join as Martin had planned dinner with his good friend, Sharon and her husband, (and her brother (who is our doctor here) and his wife) who were  up on the Sunshine Coast for the weekend.

This pic was taken at Pomona Distillery where we did our job of whisking Jenny away for lunch.  It was a great spot and we look forward to going back there soon.

Lunch over, we headed home to prepare for dinner.  A lot of the prep had been done yesterday, so it was a matter of putting it all together.  Think I made the best biryani ever!  Thankfully everyone enjoyed it.

Sharon has been a really close friend of Martin's when he was in Brisbane from the age of 15 to when he left Oz in 1991. And she is the one who recommended Martin or the job here in Noosa. We are so grateful for the part she played in our settling into Australia.

It's been a very full day of eating and socialising, and I'm thankful for every bit of it.

P.S. Pavlova turned out perfectly (did have to cook it for 3 hours rather than the 1.5hrs recommended)  ... and even received huge compliments from an honest to goodness Kiwi!!!!! I was super happy :)
