We have a busy day tomorrow with my sister-in-law Jenny's 60th birthday celebrations AND dinner at our place with some special friends.

So today was prepping as much as I could for that plus cleaning the house .... needless to say, by the time we got to bed, we were exhausted.

I made this dessert as a Plan B as I was attempting to have another go at pavlova.  This is rice pudding, and not quite kheer, where the rice is in its full form, but feerni, where the rice is ground, so you don't feel the grains.  I prefer this to kheer :).
